Equity is the idea of recognizing that we all come from different backgrounds and have different experiences and stories to share. By improving equity, we are improving visibility for every person out there.

To me, equity is being able to acknowledge that people come from different circumstances and that we need to be able to make the necessary adjustments to create an equal outcome among all people. I believe that it is what we should strive for, not just equality because everyone doesn't fit into the same "one size fits all" scenario.

Equity takes a lot of recognition of our own experiences, backgrounds, privileges, and biases. There are many structures that prevent cycles from being broken and make it more difficult for some individuals to achieve similar things as their peers. It is crucial that all individuals can receive the same resources that meet their basic needs and help to set them up for success from an early age.
